2004 Chevrolet Venture Power Steering Reservoir Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Power Steering Reservoir on 2004 Chevrolet Venture?
A: Start the replacement of the power steering reservoir off the vehicle by setting the hydraulic pump on a secure flat surface with the shaft in an upright position. A screwdriver should be used to extend the retaining clip tab before carefully moving the reservoir clip away from the hydraulic pump assembly. The removal of the second reservoir clip should precede reservoir extraction from the hydraulic pump housing. You must take out and discard the 0-ring seal which exists at either the reservoir neck or the hydraulic pump housing area. Apply power steering fluid to the new 0-ring seal before putting it onto the reservoir neck. To proceed with installation insert the antenna reservoir onto the hydraulic pump assembly by thoroughly extending its neck. Synchronize the reservoir feet to matchup with hydraulic pump housing sides before adding the new retaining clips which came with the pump unit until receiving full engagement between the tabs and housing.
