  A: To replace the Timing Chain and sprockets, you should remove the engine front cover first. Time the crankshaft timing mark with the timing mark located at the bottom of the Timing Chain dampener , and the timing mark on the camshaft gear with top of the Timing Chain dampener. Remove the camshaft sprocket bolt and they remove the camshaft sprocket and Timing Chain. Use crankshaft gear remover (J 5825-A) for removing the crankshaft sprocket next is removing of bolts for Timing Chain dampener and Timing Chain dampener. For the installation, one should use the crankshaft sprocket installer (J 38612) to install the crankshaft sprocket, using the prelube gm p/n 1052365 or the equivalent. Fit the Timing Chain dampener and its bolts, torquing them to 21 n.m (15 lb ft). Center the crankshaft timing mark with the timing mark at the bottom of the Timing Chain dampener and keep it holding the camshaft sprocket, with the Timing Chain hanging down, and install the Timing Chain on the crankshaft gear. Match the camshaft gear timing mark with the timing mark on the top of the Timing Chain dampener, as well as the dowel in the camshaft going into the dowel hole on the camshaft sprocket. Draw the camshaft sprocket onto the camshaft, using the mounting bolt, then apply engine oil to the crank shaft and camshaft sprocket tightening the bolt to 140 n.m (103 lbr ft).
