  • Q: How to replace the exhaust Camshaft Position Sensor on 2004 GMC Envoy?
A: The first step in sensor replacement requires you to disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the exhaust cmp sensor. Begin by detaching the bolt securing the exhaust cmp sensor and extract the sensor piece from the Cylinder Head while disposing of the o-ring seal. Install a new o-ring seal on the exhaust cmp sensor then apply a small amount of clean engine oil before returning the sensor to its Cylinder Head position. Tighten the bolt of the exhaust cmp sensor to a torque of 10 n.m (89 lb in) during installation. You must reconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector to the exhaust cmp sensor .
