- Q: How to replace the oil pump on 2005 Buick Century?A: Start replacing the oil pump only after you take off the case side cover. You should disconnect the electrical plugs from the solenoid valves (315A, 315B, 322, 334, and 440) TFP manual switch (395) and temperature sensor (391) using a flat tool. Keep bolt 205 in place and pull out bolts 206 and 207 to get oil pump (200) from valve body (300). Reinstall the oil pump (200) into the valve body (300) and fasten the M6 X 1.0 X 85 bolts (207) at 12 Nm (106 inch lbs.) and M6 X 1.0 X 95 bolts (206) at 16 Nm (12 ft. lbs.). Reattach all electrical connectors to the solenoid valves and control elements including 315A, 315B, 322, 334, and 440 as well as the TFP manual valve position switch (395) and temperature sensor (391). Then put back the case side cover.
