2005 Buick LaCrosse Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Hose on 2005 Buick LaCrosse?
A: Begin the replacement of the evaporator tube by recovering refrigerant then removing the air cleaner assembly. Disconnect the electrical connection from the Brake Fluid Level Sensor before unscrewing the master cylinder mounting nuts which enable removal of the master cylinder from the Brake Booster for safe placement aside. The maintenance process involves first taking off the brake pressure modulator valve bracket and the a/c line coupling which connects the evaporator tube to the receiver dehydrator tube. The installation of the receiver dehydrator requires removal of its mounting bolt before disconnecting it from the evaporator tube. After loosening the block fitting nut which keeps the evaporator tube attached to the a/c compressor hose assembly you should disconnect the evaporator tube from the a/c compressor hose assembly. The block fitting nut connecting the evaporator tube to the txv needs removal before disconnecting the evaporator tube from this valve. Begin by removing the evaporator tube from its support clip on the left fender rail before disconnecting the wire harness electrical connector from the a/c pressure sensor and finally taking off the evaporator tube from the vehicle. Discard both the o-ring seals and delicate seal washers from the a/c pressure sensor. When installing the components integrate new o-ring seals with the receiver dehydrator and a/c pressure sensor before attaching and tightening the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor to 4.7 n.m (41 lb in). Incorporate new seal washers to the evaporator tube before reinserting it into the vehicle while securing it to the support clip. The txv nut requires a torque of 27 n.m (20 lb ft) when installing the evaporator tube to it. Install the receiver dehydrator to the evaporator tube and use the a/c line coupling to join the evaporator tube with the receiver dehydrator tube then bolt the receiver dehydrator in place by tightening it to 10 n.m (88 lb in). Use an a/c compressor hose assembly to attach the evaporator tubing while shutting the block fitting nut down to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). Hook the brake pressure modulator valve bracket to the master cylinder by installing it on the Brake Booster then torque the master cylinder nuts to 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Reinstall the Brake Fluid Level Sensor electrical connector while you put back the engine vacuum line to the Brake Booster and connect the electrical connector to the a/c refrigerant pressure sensor. The air cleaner assembly needs to be replaced followed by a/c system evacuation and recharging before conducting a leak test on all fittings using halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
