2005 Buick LaCrosse Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on 2005 Buick LaCrosse?
A: Refrigerant recovery takes priority when performing condenser replacement. Next disconnect the a/c line coupling between condenser tube and receiver dehydrator tube while removing the Radiator. Remove the condenser from the vehicle by first disconnecting the a/c compressor line nut on the condenser and placing the a/c compressor line aside. Similarly dispose of all o-ring seals along with the seal washer. When installing a new condenser you must add refrigerant oil to it before final installation. The a/c compressor hose gets its new seal washer followed by installing new o-ring seals onto the receiver dehydrator tube before hooking up the receiver dehydrator tube to the condenser. The a/c coupling connects first to receiver dehydrator tube and condenser tube then moves to the condenser tubing from the a/c compressor hose. Tighten the a/c compressor hose block fitting nut to a torque of 16 n.m (12 lb ft) then return the Radiator into place. After evacuating and recharging the a/c system use the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to conduct fittings leak tests.
