2006 Buick LaCrosse A/C Condenser Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser on 2006 Buick LaCrosse?
A: Starting the condenser replacement requires refrigerant recovery as the first step. The next step involves disconnecting both the Radiator and a/c line coupling where condenser tube meets the evaporator tube. The first step is to remove the a/c compressor line nut from its position on the condenser while you move the a/c compressor line out of the way before extracting the condenser from the vehicle. Throw away the o-ring seals as well as the seal washer. Apply refrigerant oil to a new condenser before you bolt it into your vehicle's frame. First attach new o-ring seals to the evaporator tube before you join the evaporator tube with the condenser tube. Install a new seal washer to the a/c compressor hose as you fit it to the condenser tube. Begin by connecting the a/c line coupling to the evaporator tube then to the condenser tube before securing the a/c compressor hose to the condenser. Tighten the a/c compressor hose block fitting nut to 17 n.m (12.5 lb ft) using a 20mm wrench or pliers that holds the A/C Condenser block fitting to stop twisting. After the installation of the Radiator complete the a/c system evacuation then recharge it while using the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) to test for leaks.
