2006 Buick LaCrosse Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Hose Assembly on 2006 Buick LaCrosse?
A: The procedure to change the compressor hose assembly starts with recovering all refrigerant. Disconnect the A/C Compressor hose assembly from the condenser and remove it by first taking off the A/C Compressor hose nut from the condenser then disconnecting the compressor hose from the condenser. The next step consists of removing the A/C Compressor hose nut from the evaporator tube after which you disconnect the A/C Compressor hose from the evaporator tube. First disconnect the A/C Compressor hose at the A/C Compressor while removing the A/C Compressor hose nut and discarding all the sealing washers. The installation process requires you to place new sealing washers on the A/C Compressor hose assembly before attaching it to the A/C Compressor and tightening the A/C Compressor hose nut up to 17 n.m (12.5 lb ft). New sealing washers must be installed to both the A/C Compressor hose assembly and the evaporator tube before connecting the A/C Compressor hose to the evaporator tube with the evaporator tube nut and torquing it to 17 n.m (12.5 lb ft). Use the A/C Compressor hose nut to connect the hose to the condenser before tightening it to 17 n.m (12.5 lb ft). A 20mm wrench or pliers should be used to hold the a/c condenser block fitting as the a/c line requires this prevention method during a/c line nut tightening. End the process by reinstalling the air cleaner assembly followed by system evacuation and recharging steps and conducting a leak test on component fittings through the halogen leak detector (J 39400-A).
