The first step to replace the rear door striker is to take off the rear quarter lower trim and lower center pillar trim before reaching the striker anchor plate. The anchor plate will lower from its position when the striker bolts are taken out. Mark the striker position with a grease pencil before you take out the screws from the door striker so you can remove the striker. It is essential to position the new striker correctly according to its mark on the door before screw installation. After tightening the screws to 20 N.m torque or 15 lb ft torque value. Check and adjust the door striker position then verify door function fully. To finish install the front or rear trim panel when removed before reattaching the rear quarter lower trim panel and the lower center pillar trim panel.
