2005 Buick LaCrosse Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the front door window regulator on 2005 Buick LaCrosse?
A: The first step to replace front door window regulators includes disconnection of the Power Window Switch in order to disable the express up/down feature. Start the procedure by removing the front door trim panel together with the front door water deflector while using masking tape on the outer reveal to protect the paint surface. The window guide retainer clip should be unlocked by gently pressing its locks inward before lifting the window forward to detach it. Tape should be applied across the window to keep it in the complete upward position. Disconnect the power Window Motor electrical connector at its tab while unscrewing the two bolts that connect the motor to the regulator and removing the two nuts from the regulator studs. Move the Window Regulator and motor through the inner door panel access opening after breaking their connection with the power Window Motor. Queries for installation require the power Window Motor to be coupled with the Window Regulator before putting the assembled parts through the access hole. Insert the Window Regulator into position and fasten it using both the motor bolts and the nuts (2, 4) while tightening them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Slide the power Window Motor electrical connector back into the motor then test its connection by removing masking tape from the connector. Test the window operation by lowering it enough to fit into the retainer system before inspecting its function and putting back the front door water deflector and trim panel.
