2005 Buick LaCrosse Fuel Rail Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel injectors and fuel rail on 2005 Buick LaCrosse?
A: The fuel system pressure must be relieved before the upper Intake Manifold can be removed so the installer can replace the Fuel Rail together with its injectors. The first step involves taking off the fuel pipe retaining clip and severing the fuel feed pipe connection from the Fuel Injector rail. Compressed air should clear debris from the entrance of the fuel injectors into the Intake Manifold after which safety glasses need to be worn. Separate the Fuel Rail bolts and extract it with the fuel injectors while providing support to protect the injector electrical connector terminals and spray tips from damage. Secure the fittings with caps as well as using plugs to seal off holes during this process. Remove the Fuel Injector electrical connector and its retainer clip after which the Fuel Injector exits before moving on to discard the old Fuel Injector seals. Beginning with new Fuel Injector seals while proceeding to install the Fuel Injector along with its retainer clip marks the start of installation. The Fuel Injector electrical connector requires connection after tightening its lock. After installing the Fuel Rail with fuel injectors into position you should tighten its Fuel Rail bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The installation ends when you connect the fuel feed pipe to the Fuel Rail while adding the fuel pipe retaining clip and placing back the upper Intake Manifold.
