2005 Buick Park Avenue Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser in the HVAC system on 2005 Buick Park Avenue?
A: The hvac system's condenser replacement begins with refrigerant recovery. Start the replacement by removing the hood latch support bracket followed by the right headlamp assembly (for L67 engines only) then moving to the upper Radiator seal. Starting by removing the compressor hose bolt from the condenser then take off the compressor hose and evaporator hose while discarding the o-rings from both hoses. Before installing the Radiator end tank safely, detach the condenser hose bracket bolt from the Radiator and the condenser to Radiator mounting bolts while using only a special length bolt. Add refrigerant oil at the correct level to your new condenser unit before restablishing vehicle installation. Secure the condenser using the mounting bolts at 6 n.m (53 lb in) and attach the condenser hose bracket bolt to the Radiator with 2.5 n.m (23 lb in). Prepare new o-rings for the compressor hose and evaporator hose then connect everything with proper torque values at 24 n.m (18 lb ft) for the compressor hose bolt to the condenser. Reapply the upper Radiator seal followed by installing the right headlamp assembly (for L67 engines only) and hood latch bracket assembly. The a/c system evacuation and recharging process follows along with a halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) test of all a/c component fittings.
