How to replace the steering wheel on 2005 Buick Rendezvous?

Starting the steering wheel replacement requires disabling SIR functions and removing the inflator module. Start by disconnecting the steering wheel control electrical connector and unscrewing the steering wheel nut. Install the Steering Wheel Puller (J 1859-A) and Steering Wheel Puller Legs (J 42578) to the steering wheel before using these tools to extract it. Once the Steering Wheel Puller Legs (J 42578) and the Steering Wheel Puller (J 1859-A) are detached from the steering wheel along with controls and the control harness. Reassemble the controls and control harness to the steering wheel while verifying that all wiring runs smoothly within the wheel. Place the steering wheel in position then reintegration of the steering wheel control electrical connector should occur. Add the nut to the steering wheel followed by tightening it to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) Then add the inflator module before enabling the SIR system.
