2005 Buick Terraza Door Handle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the outer sliding door handle on 2005 Buick Terraza?
A: The first step for swapping the outside handle of the sliding door is to remove the inner trim panel from the sliding door. The second step requires you to remove the sliding door water deflector. Dead the control rods which connect to the sliding door outside handle lock cylinder followed by prying the barrel nut from the assembly to shift the lock rod backward from sliding door lock components. The lock assembly needs to be extracted from the sliding door after disconnecting both the sliding door lock module harness connector and the sliding Door Handle lock actuator screws. Take off the handle from the door by first removing the sliding door outside handle bolts and separating the outside handle cable from the lock assembly. The installation of the new outside handle requires linking the outside handle cable to it before fastening the sliding door outside handle into position on the door. Put the sliding door outside handle nuts in position while torquing them to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Place the outside handle cable onto the lock assembly before reattaching the assembly to the sliding door with handle lock actuator screws that should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Before proceeding install any harness connector for the sliding door lock module, then push lock rods towards the sliding door lock assembly and insert the barrel nut. Return the control rods to the sliding door outside handle before you inspect the lock rod travel and install the sliding door water deflector and the sliding door inner trim panel.
