2005 Buick Terraza Shock Absorber Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to replace the shock absorber on 2005 Buick Terraza?
A: The process of replacing the strut assembly starts at the wiper module removal point. Boost the vehicle with a frame-contact vehicle lift but use this equipment for sole support then secure the lift properly. Lift the vehicle by using a frame-contact vehicle lift and remove the tire and wheel next. Let the vehicle drop to access the strut upper nuts that must be undone. Mark the strut to the knuckle with a pen prior to disconnecting the bolts and nuts from the strut lower mounting points to pull out the strut. Reposition the strut before lowering the vehicle into place. Install the strut upper nuts while tightening them to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) then repeat the lifting procedure for struts lower bolts and nuts installation. Clean up the fasteners while removing surface rust so the fasteners can achieve 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) of torque against each mating piece prior to assembly. otherwise, replace them. Tighten the strut lower nuts to 123 Nm (90 ft. lbs.) after achieving alignment with the knuckle mark. Put the tire back on along with the wheel then lower the vehicle before you put the wiper module back in place. Finally, inspect the alignment.
