• Q: How to service the throttle body on 2005 Cadillac DeVille?

  A: To service the Throttle Body, disconnect the maf sensor electrical connector and loosen the intake air duct clamps so as not to damage the maf sensor screen so as not to prevent airflow leading to driveability problems. Remove the mass air flow (MAF) sensor and air cleaner intake duct as an assembly, followed by an inspection of the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate for deposits, open the throttle to check all surfaces. Clean the Throttle Body bore and throttle valve plate using a clean shop towel and gm top engine cleaner (P/N 1052626 Canada P/N 993026), ac-delco carburetor tune-up conditioner (P/N X66-P), or an equivalent product but avoid sol for installation, make sure that the outlet of the air cleaner assembly and the maf sensor inlet duct are lined, to avoid incorrect airflow readings that could set the mil or cause the driveability issues. Install maf sensor and air cleaner intake duct as assembly, torque the intake air duct clamps up to 3 n.m (27 lb in.) and reconnect maf sensor electrical connector.
