Service technicians need to use Hose Clamp Pliers (J38185) to disconnect and reposition the surge tank inlet hose clamp before disconnecting the surge tank inlet hose. First remove the surge tank nut and bolt before disconnecting the electrical connector to the low coolant sensor to extract the surge tank. Start by reinstalling the surge tank where it belongs and reconnect the low coolant sensor electrical connector. Tighten the surge tank nut to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.) before you tighten the surge tank bolt to the exact same specification.
