  A: Drain the coolant before starting the surge tank replacement procedure. Begin by removing the master cylinder sensor connector ahead of setting it to the side. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) helps disconnect and relocate the surge tank outlet hose clamp before removing the outlet hose connection. Repeat this procedure with hose clamp pliers j 38185 which first loosens and positions the surge tank inlet hose clamp then disconnects the surge tank inlet hose. The surge tank installation requires the removal of its bolt and nut together with disconnecting its low coolant sensor electrical connector before extraction. To install the surge tank move it back into position while connecting the low coolant sensor electrical connector. Position the surge tank nut before applying force until it reaches 90 nm (80 inch lbs.) then perform the same tightening procedure on the surge tank bolt. Use clean coolant to lubricate the hoses' inside diameters before attaching the surge tank inlet hose through hose clamp pliers (J 38185). Secure the surge tank outlet hose with hose clamp pliers (J 38185) until it stays in place. To complete the process reconnect the master cylinder fluid level sensor electrical connector and fill the complete cooling system.
