2005 Chevrolet Blazer Alternator Bracket Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to replace the alternator bracket on 2005 Chevrolet Blazer?
A: The generator bracket replacement process begins with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable followed by removing the engine cooling fan and Drive Belt and generator units. Start by taking off the engine wiring harness bracket from the generator mounting bracket and afterward remove the Drive Belt tensioner along with the Drive Belt idler pulley. Detach the 3 bolts along with the nut that fastens the generator mounting bracket to the engine before removing the bracket itself. Follow these steps to install the generator mounting bracket onto the Cylinder Head by using 2 bolts and a nut which need to be fastened to 41 n.m (30 lb ft). After installing the Drive Belt idler pulley and Drive Belt tensioner proceed with reattaching the engine wiring harness bracket to the generator mounting bracket with a bolt torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Place the generator along with the Drive Belt and engine cooling fan before restoring connection of the negative Battery Cable.
