  A: The replacement of heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) 2 requires a vehicle lift and supportive base. The Engine Wiring Harness Connector needs its ho2s electrical connector removed. Remove the ho2s from its Catalytic Converter position by using the heated Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194-B). Before installing an ho2s you must apply special anti-seize compound on its threads because this compound consists of graphite suspended in fluid and glass beads. The threads of the same sensor should receive anti-seize compound before a new installation occurs. Before installation apply anti-seize compound p/n 5613695 (or equivalent) on the ho2s threads. Place the ho2s into the Catalytic Converter and use heated Oxygen Sensor wrench (J 39194-B) to tighten its threads to 42 n.m (31 lb ft). To complete the installation connect the ho2s electrical connector to the Engine Wiring Harness Connector before lowering the vehicle. Using a scan tool to perform a code clear reset of the ho2s resistance learned value is essential to avoid ho2s failure but failure to do so will result in an ho2s failure.
