To replace the rear transverse spring, raise and support the vehicle first and remove the tire and wheel assemblies off. In the event of transverse spring replacement, it is also important to measure the rear spring adjuster bolt gap for vehicle trim height setup. As you compress the transverse spring using the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A), make sure that it is not scratched. Next, dismount one of the lower control arms, then the transverse spring bolts and retainers, disposing of the old bolts. Do away with the transverse spring from the vehicle and delink the compressor if the spring is being replaced. Now, be attached for installation of the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A) to the new transverse spring and ensure it is installed onto the crossmember. It is important not to take off the compressor until the shock absorber has been fitted, otherwise there could be misalignment of the pad on bolting the transverse Leaf Spring, which may lead to damage or rattling. Using new transverse spring retainer to crossmember bolts, fasten the retainers and bolts to the crossmember by tightening them to a torque rating of 62 nm (46 ft. Lbs.). Replace the lower Control Arm to the Rear Crossmember, take off the transverse spring compressor (J 33432-A), and replace the tire and wheel assemblies. Finally, fine-tune the rear trim height if the rear spring was replaced and conduct a rear-wheel alignment.
