How to replace the rear axle upper control arm on 2005 Chevrolet Corvette?

The process begins with lifter support followed by vehicle elevation. First whole the wheel assembly off then detach both the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and the suspension control sensor link. The j 42188 ball joint separator (J 42188) will help disconnect the suspension knuckle from the upper Control Arm. Install a jack stand under the Control Arm to support it while using the j 42188 ball joint separator to detach the ball joint stud nut. Continue by loosening but not removing the ball joint stud nut before removing both tools from the ball joint stud. First remove the upper Control Arm frame-retaining bolts then remove the affected component from the vehicle. Put the upper Control Arm into position then fasten the frame bolts to 110 nm (81 ft. Lbs.). When installing the suspension knuckle upper ball joint stud into the upper Control Arm use an allen wrench to prevent stud rotation during ball joint stud nut tightening. Tighten the suspension knuckle ball joint stud nut to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) before rotating it another 250 degrees to reach a minimum final torque of 55 nm (41 ft. Lbs.). Follow these sequence: reconnect the wheel speed sensor electrical connector and the electronic suspension control sensor link, remove the jack stand from the lower Control Arm, reinstall a tire/wheel assembly, lower the vehicle and complete a rear wheel alignment.
