How to replace the upper control arm on 2005 Chevrolet Corvette?

In order to replace the upper Control Arm, lift and support the vehicle then remove the tire and wheel assembly. Unplug the electronic suspension control (ESC) sensor link and jack the lower Control Arm up with a jackstand. Do not remove nut of ball joint stud, loosen the nut and use the j 42188 ball joint separator (J 42188) in separating upper ball joint stud from upper Control Arm. Once the j 42188 has been removed from the ball joint stud, remove the ball joint stud nut. Keep in mind though that the upper shims Control Arm affect the camber and the caster hence ensure uniform thickness of shims on each side of each upper Control Arm bushing. Removeth e upper Control Arm bolts and shims, report ing their number and location for future use. Set the new upper Control Arm, followed by the upper Control Arm shims of even thickness. Mount the upper Control Arm mounting bolts onto upper Control Arm and frame rail and tighten to 65 nm (48 ft. Lbs.). Install the upper ball joint stud in the upper Control Arm and use an allen wrench to keep it from spinning when you tighten the ball joint stud nut at 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.) to seat it and use a minimum final torque of 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) afterward. Reconnect esc sensor link, take out the jackstand and replace tire and wheel assembly and lower the vehicle.
