How to replace the side rear door check strap on 2005 Chevrolet Express 2500?

The process to change the side rear door check begins with opening the door halfway then slowly pulling the side door check toward the inside before finishing the door swing. The fasteners securing the side door check to the door pillar must be taken off before removing the check from the door. To install the side door check place it into the door opening and position it onto the internal pin. Then pull the check until the pin becomes engaged. Fasten the side door check with the fasteners to the door pillar by tightening the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).
