2005 Chevrolet Tahoe Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the inlet radiator hose for 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines on 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe?
A: An owner should drain the cooling system before replacing the radiator inlet hose on 4.8l, 5.3l and 6.0l engines. To begin the replacement you should first loosen the air cleaner outlet duct clamps that attach to the Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor locations and next remove the outlet hose clip from the radiator inlet hose followed by taking off the air cleaner outlet duct. The repair technician first removes the engine sight shield and breaks loose the radiator vent inlet hose detachments from radiator inlet hose clips. First detach the inlet hose clamp at the radiator and after that take out the inlet hose from the radiator. You need to put back the inlet hose clamp at the Water Pump location before extracting the inlet hose from the Water Pump. To mount the installation begin by connecting the inlet hose to the Water Pump before securing its clamp at the Water Pump position. The next installation action involves the radiator inlet hose where you should position the inlet hose clamp at the radiator. Position the Fan Shroud inlet hose clip before securing its position on the radiator inlet hose to radiator inlet hose clips. Reinstall the engine sight shield and the air cleaner outlet duct but make sure the arrow on the Throttle Body end faces the Throttle Body attaching stud. Use the last step to install both the radiator inlet hose clip on the outlet duct along with clamping down Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor air cleaner outlet ducts at 4 nm (35 inch lbs.) while completing the cooling system fill.
