2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the canister purge valves on 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer?
A: A technician must first raise the vehicle before starting the replacement on the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve. Begin by disconnecting the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge valve's harness electrical connector. Then remove both the EVAP purge pipe and engine vacuum pipe from the valve. First disconnect the purge valve from the mounting bracket then take off the bolt for the new purge bracket mounting if replacement is required. Reassemble the new and existing purging system by using a bolt to attach the bracket before tightening it to 10 N.m (89 lb in). You should first mount the purge valve onto its bracket before reattaching the EVAP purge pipe with engine vacuum pipe to the valve. Afterward, connect the electrical harness connector to the EVAP canister purge valve then finish by lowering the vehicle.
