• Q: How to replace the Antenna Cable for the digital radio on 2005 GMC Envoy?

  A: Start coaxial cable digital radio replacement by removing right windshield garnish molding and instrument panel (I/P) trim pad along with right sunshade and its inboard retaining clip and front headliner lower part. Remove the right front door sill plate after disconnecting the electrical connectors from the digital radio Antenna assembly. First remove the coaxial cable from the right windshield pillar then lower the right closeout insulator panel. First disconnect the coaxial cable from the digital radio receiver along with removal of the lower rose bud from the cowl. Secure a mechanics wire to the coaxial cable terminus before guiding it into the cowl insulator access hole between i/p and cowl. Release the upper rose bud by grasping the coaxial cable base of the windshield yet removing it carefully upward. Pull out the coaxial cable from your vehicle following mechanics wire removal from the cable. The installation process involves attaching the mechanics wire located behind the i/p to the end of the coaxial cable followed by removing the rose bud if present from the coaxial cable. After routing the mechanics wire through the cowl insulator and beyond the i/p, install the lower rose bud to the cowl. The digital radio receiver and right windshield pillar receive the coaxial cable installation. Replace the right front door sill plate followed by the right closeout insulator panel and complete the electrical connector installation to the digital radio Antenna assembly. Finally, reinstall the headliner, the right sunshade with its inboard retaining clip, the i/p trim pad, and the right windshield garnish molding.
