  A: Start Brake Master Cylinder overhaul on a bench with the mounting flange secured in place to access the rear part of the primary Piston. First sanitize the space near the reservoir cap then unfasten both parts to check if the components need exchange due to damage. Insert a thin round tool to lower the primary Piston inside the cylinder bore and remove both the Piston retainer and Piston assembly from the master cylinder reservoir. Connect outlet and inlet ports while airing the cylinder front port with filtered air to pull out the secondary Piston and its regions as well as the return spring. The primary Piston assembly should be discarded at this point. Use a clean cloth dampened in denatured alcohol to clean major parts of the master cylinder system. Replace the whole unit if parts show any structural damage. Apply delco supreme ii brake fluid gm p/n 12377967 (Canadian P/N 992667) from a sealed container directly to master cylinder bore, secondary Piston, return spring, and all assembled parts before installation. Put the new primary seal and retainer next to the new secondary seal over the secondary Piston. Add the lubricated return spring and Piston assembly into the cylinder bore followed by the lithium-based lube applied primary Piston assembly. Use a flat tool to push the new Piston retainer into place after applying it to the master cylinder reservoir and its parts.
