How to replace the left rear parking brake cable (with RPO NYS) on 2005 GMC Yukon?

In order to change the left rear park brake cable, one should release the park brake by first lifting the vehicle. Take out the cable of the equalizer, and take it off the mounting bracket and lower shock absorber mount. Install the new cable, making sure that it is properly run and then lower the vehicle.
