How to replace the Body Control Module (BCM) on 2006 Buick LaCrosse?

First locate the left instrument panel (I/P) outer trim and follow ESD safety practices before removing it to gain access to the Body Control Module (BCM). You can remove BCM power from its upper connector when a simple push releases the locking cam. After that disconnect the left I/P insulator and knee bolster. Unplug both BCM lower connectors by pushing their cam latches. After undoing BCM bracket screws, you can pull out BCM and bracket from their I/P position. Place the BCM on its bracket first before setting it back onto the assembly panel at 2 N.m using screws. Join the lower BCM electrical cables then push the cam lock button into place before reinstalling the knee bolster and left I/P insulator. Thread the highest electrical wiring into the BCM device port and push in the lock closure. Then put back the left I/P outer trim panel. The new BCM system must be configured after installing it.
