- Q: How to replace the throttle body assembly on 2006 Buick Rainier?A: In order to replace the Throttle Body assembly, the resonator assembly should be removed, the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister purge line should be removed from the Throttle Body and the Throttle Body almost should be disconnected as well as the Throttle Body electrical connector. Next, remove the Throttle Body assembly retaining bolts and remove the Throttle Body assembly including the gasket from the Intake Manifold ensuring that you clean off the surface of the gasket. For installation, simply bolt the Throttle Body assembly onto the Intake Manifold, with the gasket, applying sealer gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) to the throttle control module bolt threads before installing the Throttle Body assembly retaining bolts and tighten the Throttle Body assembly retaining bolts to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Then reconnect the Throttle Body electrical connector, reattach the evap canister purge line to the Throttle Body, as well as install the resonator assembly.
