How to replace the rear inside door handle on 2006 Buick Rendezvous?

The procedure to replace a rear inside door handle involves initial removal of rear door trim panels together with the rear door water deflector. A center punch should be used to remove the rivets' centers followed by drilling the rivet from the rear inside door handle with a 6.35mm (1/4 inch) drill bit. The rear inside door handle should be taken out from the rear door inner panel followed by removing the lock rod and door handle rod from the handle. To install the lock rod with the door handle rod attach them to the new rear inside door handle before placing the tabs into their receptacles on the rear door inner panel. Complete the installation by securing the handle with a rivet before putting back the rear door water deflector then finally placing the rear door trim panel.
