  A: To replace the Rack and Pinion Boot and breather tube off the vehicle use the j 22610 keystone clamp pliers (J 22610). Remove the outer tie rod first, and then the hexagon jam nut from the inner tie rod assembly. Then, pry off the tie rod end clamp from Rack and Pinion Boot and remove the boot clamp from Rack and Pinion Boot by cutting it with side cutters and throwing boot clamp away. If there is a breather tube, note its position on the gear assembly before installing the Rack and Pinion Boot and the breather tube. To assemble, install a new boot clamp to new Rack and Pinion Boot and coat inside tie rod, assembly with grease to Rack And Pinion gear assembly before installation of Rack and Pinion Boot to inside tie rod assembly. If it applies, fit the breather tube, which should be slotted on the mark used when removed from and the molded nipple of the Rack and Pinion Boot.
