2006 Cadillac DTS Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Brake Light Switch on 2006 Cadillac DTS?
A: The replacement process of torque converter clutch/cruise control release switch starts with the removal of the left closeout/insulator panel. Separate the upper switch from its place first by turning it counterclockwise followed by disconnecting its electrical connector. Attach the upper switch electrical connector only after positioning the Brake Pedal in its full up position along with its complete rest state. Screw the upper switch inside the upper retainer by rotating it clockwise until it reaches complete insertion. Correct functioning of cruise control depends on proper brake booster pushrod assembly to the Brake Pedal because post-assembly adjustment of the release switch assembly with the stoplamp switch assembly must wait until then to prevent system malfunction. After adjustment of the switch proceed by reinstalling the left closeout/insulator panel.
