  • Q: How to replace the front door window regulator on 2006 Cadillac STS?
    A: You should start by bringing the window to its highest position before moving on to removing the door trim panel. Begin by removing the water deflector followed by raising and supporting the window when it is fully up position. You must loosen the window clamp nuts through the access holes in the inner door panel by making four revolutions then put on the door trim panel wiring harness. Lower the Window Regulator towards the bottom of its travel by 3/4 of its total distance before removing the electrical connection from the Window Regulator motor. The Window Regulator bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) must be removed before you take the Window Regulator out of the door. The installation process begins by placing the Window Regulator inside the door before tightening the Window Regulator bolts (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) to 9 n.m (80 lb in). After removing window support place the window into the regulator clamps so that it stays fully in the rearward section of the channel. To achieve correct window seating the vehicle needs to be started with power Window Motor electrical connector connected so the motor receives maximum electrical power. Drive the window to the complete upward position before tightening the clamp nuts to 11 n.m (95 lb in). Check the window for correct operation after turning off the vehicle. Install and position the door trim panel together with the water deflector at the end of your installation. All electrical programming must be performed on Window Motor systems whenever power loss happens to the motor.
