    A: You need to take off the Steering Knuckle before you handle the Ball Joint replacement job on a 4wd vehicle. First you need to remove all Ball Joint fasteners from the lower Control Arm then throw them away. Unfasten the Ball Joint from the lower Control Arm position. Install the new Ball Joint onto the top Control Arm under service precautions fastener rules. Use new bolts to attach the ball joints to the lower Control Arm and fasten them to a torque setting of 64 nm. After putting back the Steering Knuckle return to verify proper wheel alignment.
