    A:
You must take off the Steering Knuckle before addressing the lower Control Arm Ball Joint on z71 models with 4wd and 2wd. You should now remove both bolts and balls from the Ball Joint on the lower Control Arm and discard them. Disconnect the Ball Joint from the lower Control Arm part. Fasten the new Ball Joint to its position on the upper Control Arm using correct installation methods outlined in the fastener notice. Apply new Ball Joint fasteners onto the bottom Control Arm section before tightening them to 47 lb-ft at 64 n.m. Put back the Steering Knuckle and check wheel alignment against defined specifications.
