• Q: How to disconnect and connect the negative battery cable on 2006 Chevrolet Equinox?

  A: To remove or attach the battery unfavorable connection, record all customer's radio station presets, turn off all lamps and add-ons and permit the ignition change to off stance. I have disconnected the wire harness for the powertrain control module (PCM) from the battery box top, i then remove the pcm bracket with the pcm off the top of the battery box top, then i place it out of the way. Loosen the battery box cover with screws and remove the battery box cover . It should then be followed by loosening the battery negative cable terminal bolt and removing the battery negative cable from the battery. For installation, connect the battery negative cable to the battery, tighten the terminal bolt to 17 n.m (13 lb ft) and make sure the existing corrosion from the battery terminal bolt flange and the Battery Cable end is removed. Replace the battery box cover and secure the screws to 2 n.m (18 lb in). Reattach the pcm and bracket to the battery box cover and connect the pcm wire harness to the battery box cover and finally, program the customer's all radio station presets and read the current time as the radio clock.
