How to replace the intermediate exhaust pipe on a 2.2L engine on 2006 Chevrolet Malibu?

The replacement process for the intermediate pipe on a 2.2l engine needs a two-step approach which starts with eliminating the Muffler assembly together with removing the cpa retainer followed by disconnecting the ho2s electrical connector. The sensor operation for ho2s remains operational because the pigtail comes permanently attached to the connector but the technician must not remove this part. Administration should start with the removal of the ho2s followed by the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter to intermediate pipe nuts and finally extracting the intermediate pipe. First place the new intermediate pipe and install the exhaust manifold/catalytic converter to intermediate pipe nuts with a torque of 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.) as per the fastener notice in service precautions. Place the ho2s into the proper position before tightening it to 42 nm (31 ft. Lbs.) and then attach the ho2s electrical connector and install the cpa retainer. Reinstall the Muffler assembly last.
