First slide the shift lever seal ahead of the shift lever and if necessary remove the steering column trim covers. The base of the column needs shift lever connector removal before you remove the shift lever assembly's screw. Disconnect and remove both the linear shift assembly's shift lever and seal through the process of sliding the seal towards its narrow shift lever section. First put the shift lever seal in position on the small section of the shift lever assembly and next reinstall the assembly into the linear shift system. Screw the shift lever screw into the shift lever assembly before tightening it to 20 nm (15 ft. Lbs.). Slowly guide the shift lever seal to reach the bottom of the shift lever assembly and position it against the steering column trim covers. Enable the sir system after installing the steering column trim covers when required.
