First to replace the engine oil pressure sensor or switch, clean the area around the oil pressure sensor, so the debris does not enter the engine. Denney the Fuel Pump/oil pressure sensor electrical connector. With the help of the Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712), remove the Fuel Pump/oil pressure sensor. In case need be, remove the Fuel Pump/oil pressure sensor fitting and observe the fitting positioning before removal. To reinstall the old fitting, put on the threads of the fitting sealant gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent enough and pushing it until it feels tight, tighten it to 15 nm (11 ft. Lbs.) followed by increasing the torque until the center line of the fitting to a forty five degree angle from the center line of the Crankshaft. In case of reinstalling the old sensor, sealant gm p/n 12346004 (Canadian P/N 10953480) or equivalent is used to the threads of the sensor, and then Oil Pressure Switch socket (J 41712) will install the sensor tightly with 16nm (22ft. Lbs.). Finally, connect the Fuel Pump/oil pressure sensor electrical connector and finally check and adjust the engine oil level if necessary.
