How to replace the multifunction turn signal switch on 2006 Chevrolet SSR?

Before replacing the Multifunction Turn Signal Switch you need to disable the SIR system using Restraint System Disabling and Enabling methods. Put the steering column in its center position and take off both trims at the top and bottom. You must first detach all connectors from both the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly before taking out its 2 pan head tapping screws to remove the assembly. During the turn signal switch installation place the electrical contact onto the switch cancel cam assembly. Use 2 small bolts to attach the assembly while securing the screw on top at 3 Nm (27 inch lbs.) and the screw on the side at 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.). Reconnect the assembly before putting back the upper and lower trim covers and enabling SIR as instructed.
