How to replace the Engine Control Module on 2006 GMC Sierra 3500?

In order to swap the powertrain control module (PCM) the ignition switch should be open. Clean out PCM connector and examine gaskets. The replacement PCM has to be programmed. Disconnect the negative battery cable, PCM cover and unconnect the electrical connectors. Install the new PCM and reconnect all.
