The first step in replacing the throttle body assembly requires complete removal of the air cleaner outlet duct alongside the secondary air injection (AIR) feed tube if you have it. Remove the engine harness electrical connector from the throttle actuator before loosening throttle body bolts to extract the throttle body assembly nuts. Secondly remove the throttle body while keeping the seal in position. Installation involves putting back the throttle body and seal into position but first apply threadlock GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) or equivalent to the nuts before screwing them in. After reconnecting the engine harness electrical connector to the throttle actuator, tighten the throttle body bolts/nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Reinstall the AIR feed tube if equipped, followed by the air cleaner outlet duct.
