2007 Buick Rendezvous Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Expansion Valve in an A/C system on 2007 Buick Rendezvous?
A: A proper process needs to recover refrigerant first as part of txv installation procedures. The first step before replacement of the Brake Booster vacuum hose includes rerouting both heater hoses and disconnection of the vacuum hose from the Brake Booster followed by its new position. Disconnect the Evaporator outlet tube to txv nut and take the tubed off from both the txv and Evaporator inlet tube. Seal the open a/c refrigerant tubes by applying tape or caps right after removing the sealing washers to avoid contamination. The technician should first remove the txv to Evaporator bolts before taking out the txv from the Evaporator core with the same washing procedure yet once again placing caps or tape over the Evaporator core opening. To install the txv requires users to remove the Evaporator core cap or tape followed by washer placement on the core and txv assembly to the core before torquing txv bolts to 3.2 n.m (28 lb in). First remove the tape or stirring cap on the a/c refrigerant tubes before adding sealing washers to each tube then connect them together by placing the Evaporator inlet tube to the Evaporator outlet tube with a final step of attaching the tubes to the txv and securing the Evaporator outlet tube nut to 16 n.m (12 lb ft). As the final step you should return the vacuum hose to its position on the Brake Booster and reposition the heater hoses before conductive an a/c system evacuation and recharge. Then execute a fitting leak test with the halogen leak detector (J39400-A).
