2007 Buick Rendezvous Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the fuel rail assembly on 2007 Buick Rendezvous?
A: Starting to replace the Fuel Rail assembly requires the reduction of fuel system pressure. Clean all connections between fuel and evaporative emission (EVAP) pipes together with their respective surrounding areas to stop any damage from contamination. The main goal involves separating the evap pipe from the evap canister purge solenoid valve and the fuel feed pipe from the Fuel Rail. Detach the engine harness electrical connector from the Fuel Injector harness electrical connector and afterward disconnect the Fuel Injector harness electrical connector from the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor and the camshaft position (CMP) sensor. Begin by eliminating the Fuel Rail bolts and removing the complete Fuel Rail and then extract each Fuel Injector o-ring seals from its spray tip end prior to eliminating the necessary fuel injectors. Install the Fuel Rail keeping particular attention on the fuel system components during installation and also cover the Fuel Rail inlet and outlet ports to protect from contamination. New lower o-ring seals must be installed to the fuel injectors before the injectors are placed into each injector bore. The injector tip o-rings need lubrication by using gm p/n 12345616 (Canadian P/N 993182) or equivalent before installation. Pressing the Fuel Rail will ensure the injectors make proper contact and then proceed with installation of the bolts which should be tightened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). The electrical connection between Fuel Injector harness and cmp sensor must be completed before connecting it to ect sensor while also rejoining engine harness to the Fuel Injector harness. Reinstall the upper Intake Manifold and close connections by joining the evap pipe with the evap canister purge solenoid valve and the fuel feed pipe with the Fuel Rail. Complete the procedure by reattaching the negative Battery Cable and verifying for fuel leaks when you simultaneously turn on the ignition for 2 seconds followed by waiting 10 seconds before turning it on again to inspect for leakage.
