The 10mm and two 13mm attaching bolts on the body side door hinge need to stay in place because removing them allows the cone on the back hinge to enter the A-Pillar areas. Masking tape should be applied to door gap areas with utility knife cut lines that overlap between each door and the rocker panel and the rear door or quarter panel. Use a rag to clean all hinge mounting surfaces on the door and body and use a grease pencil to indicate the hinge positions on body surfaces. First secure the door before taking out the upper or lower body side hinge bolts and door side hinge bolts as well as the entire hinge assembly. Install the cone adjuster bolt to the hinge after which tighten it to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Insert the new hinge in the marked body locations and bolt each door side hinge to its respective slot before tightening them to 33 N.m (24 lb ft) according to the lettered sequence. Secure the upper or lower body side hinge bolts to the hinge after tightening them to 33 N.m (24 lb ft). Remove the door supports together with the reference tape from the door and both the rocker and quarter panel. The final inspection checks the front door for movements along all directions before any required adjustments are done.
