2007 Buick Terraza Fan Shroud Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the cooling fan and fan shroud (LZ9) on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: Start cooling fan and shroud (LZ9) replacement by taking off the air cleaner along with its duct assembly and right side diagonal brace and Radiator inlet hose. To begin with disconnect the cooling fan harness electrical connector then loosen engine mount strut nuts located at the engine side. Use a wrench to remove the bracket bolts which anchor the struts from the upper Radiator support and afterward rotate these components in a backward direction. The first task involves removing the overflow hose from its retainers before disconnecting the Radiator outlet hose retainer from the Fan Shroud. Descend the sequence of tasks by first taking out the battery followed by the Radiator upper mount bolts and the upper mounts until finally removing the cooling Fan Shroud bolts. First disconnect the toc line from the Radiator and then raise and support the vehicle while taking out the Radiator air baffle. The technician disconnects the toc lines from the Fan Shroud retainer clip while lowering the vehicle to complete removal of the cooling Fan Shroud and fans. Start by installing the cooling Fan Shroud and fans then raise the vehicle again to attach the toc lines to the Fan Shroud retainer clip, move on to installing the Radiator air baffle and end with lowering the vehicle. The upper toc line needs to be connected to the Radiator with proper installation of cooling Fan Shroud bolts that must be tightened to 6 n.m (53 lb in). First tighten the battery before installing the Radiator upper mounts with their bolts at 10 n.m (88 lb in). The Radiator outlet hose retainer gets attached to its matching outlet hose retainer and the overflow hose receives installation on the retainers. After aligning the engine mount struts with the upper Radiator support position their brackets for mounting the bolts at 28 n.m (21 lb ft) torque which must be followed by tightening the engine strut mount nuts at 48 n.m (35 lb ft) torque. You should finish the procedure by reattaching the fan harness connection then adding the Radiator inlet tube followed by right diagonal braces and air cleaner plumbing.
