2007 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Automatic Transmission Range Selector Shift Cable on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: The replacement process of shift cable starts with removing the throttle body air inlet duct. A flat-bladed tool should be used to remove the retaining clip from the shift cable. Subsequently detach the shift cable from the cable lever using a large flat-bladed tool. The shift cable can be removed from its bracket when cable retainers are depressed using pliers. The procedure starts with knee bolster removal while the technician takes out the retaining clip that serves to hold the shift cable. To remove the shift cable detach it from the column control lever so the cable can be pulled through the cowl opening. Correct placement of the shift cable in the engine compartment determines proper installation while it should pass through the cowl. Close the shift cable to the steering column bracket by using the retaining clip which will hold it in place. You need to position the shift cable onto the column control lever before placing back the knee bolster while connecting the cable to shift cable bracket. After adjusting the shift cable install it to the shift lever and attach the retaining clip to the shift cable while also reinstalling the throttle body air inlet duct.
