  • Q: How to replace the starter motor on 2007 Buick Terraza?
    A: To replace the Starter motor, the first step is to pull the negative Battery Cable and pull off the radiator air baffle. Then remove the engine to transmission brace found at the rear left side of the engine before going ahead and removing the transaxle converter cover bolt and the transaxle converter cover. Next, unbolt the engine harness ground nut and the engine harness ground , and also disconnect the engine harness electrical connector from the Starter. Perform Starter motor "bat" terminal nut, and positive Battery Cable (3, 6), and Starter motor "bat" terminal, and Starter motor " s" terminal nut, and engine harness . Then, take off the Starter motor bolts and pull out the Starter motor. The installation cleaning should be done by securing the nut that is adjacent to the cap on the solenoid bat terminal, in order to avoid the damage that may occur during electrical connections. Mount the Starter motor to the engine and tighten the Starter motor bolts to 40 n.m (30 lb ft). Connect the engine harness to the Starter motor "s'" terminal and bolt the Starter motor "s'" terminal to 3 n.m (27 lb in). Then connect the engine harness and the positive battery cables (6, 3) to the Starter motor "bat" terminal, followed by its installation nut "bat" on the Starter motor, tightened to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). Install the engine harness ground nut to 20 n.m (15 lb ft) and reconnect the engine harness electrical connector to the Starter. Lastly replace the transaxle converter cover and bolt torqued to 10 n.m (89 lb in), the engine to transmission brace on the rear left of the engine, the radiator air baffle and connect the negative Battery Cable.
