2007 Buick Terraza Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the negative battery cable on 2007 Buick Terraza?
A: You must detach both the positive Battery Cable and the instrument panel wiring harness electrical connector from the battery current sensor before battery negative cable replacement. Start by opening the positive Battery Cable cover while loosening the positive cable nut before extracting the battery connection. Begin by unscrewing both the negative Battery Cable ground terminal nut away from the inner fender stud and disconnecting the ground from its stud. To begin the repair workplace keeps the junction block cover open while using tools to remove the positive Battery Cable junction block nut and then providing separation of the instrument panel wiring harness terminal and positive Battery Cable terminal to the junction block stud. The installation commences with baffle removal from the radiator and starter motor "bat" terminal nut removal and positive Battery Cable detachment at the starter motor "bat" terminal. Start by disconnecting the engine harness ground nut and terminal then follow by removing the negative Battery Cable from the transaxle stud. Mounting brackets securing the Battery Cable conduit must be removed from inside the fender and lower tie bar to separate the battery cables from their current sensor. The installation process begins with fitting the battery current sensor while reattaching both battery cables to their vehicle locations. Reposition the Battery Cable conduit retainers back into their respective slots after installing the negative Battery Cable onto the transaxle stud and the engine harness ground terminal. Tighten the ground nut to a torque of 25 n.m (18 lb ft). Attach the positive Battery Cable to the "bat" terminal of the starter motor then tighten its terminal nut to 17 n.m (13 lb ft). The next steps should install the radiator air baffle followed by the instrument panel wiring harness terminal connection to junction block stud and positive Battery Cable terminal connection to junction block nut before tightening the junction block nut to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Complete the junction block closure by connecting the negative ground Battery Cable to the appropriate stud and fasten its terminal nut to 5 n.m (44 lb in). Completing the installation requires placement of the positive Battery Cable onto the battery followed by nut tightening to 16 n.m (12 lb ft) while you close the positive Battery Cable cover then connect the battery current sensor electrical connector before reconnecting the negative Battery Cable.
